Winter Indoor Walking in Kern Pavilion
From December through March, Kern Pavilion is open for walking on weekdays from 8:30am-1:30pm. The building is NOT heated so dress appropriately and restrooms are available along with benches to take breaks. One lap around the pavilion is 1/9 of a mile. Strollers are welcome but rollerblades, bikes, etc are NOT allowed. If Frankenmuth schools are closed, so is the pavilion.
Winter Fieldhouse Activities
During the winter months, Kern Pavilion is turned into a fieldhouse for outdoor sports like Soccer, Football, Baseball and Softball.
Specs of the Fieldhouse:
- 160 ft x 130 ft clear span area. Up to 30 ft. high
- Nets on all 4 walls and ceiling
- Concrete floor (no turf)
- Typically heated to 55 degrees
- Indoor soccer nets provided
- Baseball/Softball: great for infield practice, ground balls and live hitting allowed
- Limited restrooms for players
- No spectator areas
